Coping With The End Of A Relationship

When you're coping with the end of a relationship you begin to question what went wrong and how you could have done things differently. Most people often face a last minute decision to try and salvage the relationship.

What Went Wrong

The end of every relationship is the result of mistakes or problems that damaged your bond. The key to every reconciliation, regardless of the issue, will always be connected to communication. Many relationships will end because people don't know how to talk about what's really bothering them. It's also common to know EXACTLY what's wrong, but mask the problem with an unrelated issue.

Can It Be Fixed

It becomes painful to reflect back onto your relationship and see something that is such a large contrast to your current situation. You may have been best friends and always together, but now you can't stay in the same room for more than two minutes. You may want to turn back the clock, or start over, but you can't. You can only try to fix what your relationship has become and try to move forward.

The First Step

The absolute first step to every reconciliation is to stop fighting in every form. You have to put every argument on hold and try to be as objective as possible. It's when your partner realizes that the hostility and fighting have come to an end that you really begin to examine and talk openly about your problems.

Unfortunately, many relationships will come to an end because of pride. If you wait for your partner to decide the arguing needs to stop, your relationship may reach it's end. If you want to save your relationship you need to take the first step and initiate the rebuilding of trust and communication.
